Transforming 336

11/2024 – as London’s largest Disability Hub, recognised as a local landmark  on Brixton Road, we are finalising plans to refurbish, improve and expand our facilities.

Our building has served us well over the last forty years and is due a refurbishment. We are also planning, in due course, an expansion at the back of the site to create more workspace to serve local people

Our vision

Our vision is that our building will be at the leading edge of disability access, provide quality facilities, offer a great experience and be a pleasure to be in for all our users.

We will be able to offer improved conference, training and meeting space, and community facilities. Some key features which we’d like to achieve:

  • A reduced carbon footprint, saving energy, improving the local environment and contributing to the regeneration of Brixton
  • A better more accessible entrance
  • Additional high quality, flexible workspace as part of the Brixton Creative Enterprise Zone.
  • A new incubation space for social enterprise start-ups (seedbeds) working in the field of disability which will increase our social impact
  • Better conference facilities for local people
  • A new basement car park for Blue Badge holders
  • Better connectivity around the building and between organisations.

We will be undertaking a major fundraising initiative. As part of our developing our fund-raising strategy we have undertaken a Social Audit.
